What Causes Bleeding In Nose?

Hi, i have a sinus infection and went to my primary doctor. I blow my nose pretty hard to get mucus out, however, she told me that this is what is causing my nose to bleed. My question is, is this true, can blowing my nose too hard be a cause to my nose bleeding; or what i herd from a friend that has undergone a surgery that i have undergone this summer for a deviated symptom. He says that a vain my he popped and this is what is causing the bleeding. What is correct?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The nasal mucosa is ver vascular.
Trauma or hard blowing can cause bleeding.
Bleeding following a surgery for deviated nasal septum is uncommon until the surgical would has no healed properly.
Thus, do not blow your nose very hard.
In case there is any raw wound on the nasal mucosa, cotton packing can be used to allow the wound to heal.
Consult your primary healthcare provider for examination of the nasal mucosa for any bleeders.

Thanks and take care

Hi,
It is likely that when you blow your nose hard you burst a small blood vessel in your nose and this is what is causing the bleeding.
