What Causes 119 Gamma Gt Reading In Blood Tests?

My blood test results have come back with 119 gamma gt reading. everything else was normal. i don't drink i am overweight and on alot of medication for my arthritus and other health problems. Gabapentin, Amitriptyline, diclofenic, lisinopril, MST Continus are some of my medication could any of these cause it to raise? Nikki

Hi Nikki,
I looked at your reports and your medication history. There appears to be no side effects of medications to increase gamma glutamyl transpeptidase level.
Even though, it is increased in alcohol liver disease, its significance is mainly in detecting any biliary obstruction, cholangitis or gall bladder disease.
It is very sensitive and identifies even the slightest degree of obstruction.
As you are overweight, gall bladder disease might be the cause in the present scenario. You can get an ultrasound of abdomen to identify any gall bladder disease.
