What Cause Headaches, drugged Feeling After A Injury?
I was running a long distance race & as I neared the end I fell. I sat off to the side but was unable to stand as my legs were too weak. Then a cloudiness came over me & I laid down. I became very dizzy/light headed, lost color & my lips turned blue. When race officials finally came to me I was able to stand with assistance & they took me to a medical tent. I was hard me to to understand what people were saying to me as I began to become more & more confused. Once at the tent when I drank water I threw up 4x. I was drenched in sweat, my heart rate & pulse were normal. Slowly everything came back but the last couple days have been tough in that my speech pattern hasn t quite returned, I have headaches/pressure in my head & I feel very drugged in the morning time. What do you think happened & what should I do? I am slowly feeling better with each day but my energy level (mental/physical) hasn t returned to normal.
I think you have had a head concussion. The other symptoms are caused by a temporary brain dysfunction due to the concussion.
It is normal to have these symptoms after a brain concussion. You will recover slowly after some time. You just need some rest. The fact that you are getting better is a good sign that everything will be OK!
If your situation worsens I would advise you to go to the ER and perform a brain CT scan for delayed intracranial hemorrhage.
Hope to have been helpful!
