What Can I Do To Avoid The Symptoms Of Hypoglycemia?

Hi,
I am a diebetic & consuming one Trivolib tablet 1mg before breakfast every day. The medication was recently changed as my sugar levels were not controled with a Metformin (Gluformin 500mg) tablet which was taken twice daily before meals.
The problem is that after taking the Trivolib Tablet in the morning if I don not have an heavy breakfast, Symptoms of Hypoglycemia start showing up after 3 to 4 hours after consuming the tablet & then I am forced to take some high sugar suppliment. I also start feeling extremly hungry & start sweating a lot. Do I need to change the Medecine or dosage of the medicine. What are things I can do to improve on the hypoglycemia symtoms.

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear sir i can understand your concern, you are on mono therapy with metformin shifting you to triple drug at once is not a logical move.
In my opinion we should use medications very carefully in diabetes because with heavy usage your pancreas may go int secondary failure and will not respond to medicine.
The best treatment will be intensifying the dose of metformin along with diet and exercise
if sugars are not controlling then plan adding second line of medications like gliclazide or glipizide or A new group of drugs also available like sitagliptin which are having very good profile in terms of hypoglycemia.
i can guide you better if you provide me your test results, height ,weight, duration of diabetes
I suppose I have given the desired response if you have any other query please write back.

Best Regards.
