What Can Cause Fever, Nausea And Shivering In Old Age?
My wife just called from her mother s house, where her mom (82 years old) had a low grade fever, nausea and a shaking that my wife described as more than just shaky hands or shivering, but more like a seizure. Mother-in-law is coherent (sp?) and is conscious of all going on around her. I m sure a call to the Squad is needed, but what might it be?
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. It appears to be viral infection. 2. Paracetamol is necessary. 3. At this age, every infection needs to be treated seriously. 4. Keep her hydrated. Other associated chronic disease needs to be evaluated along with it for complications. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
