What Can Cause A Marble Size Lump Near The Neck In A Child?

My daughter has a marble size lump on the left side of her neck down by the clavicle. We just noticed it today. When we asked her if it hurt at first she said it tickled then she said it hurt a little. She has had a head cold for about a week now. Could this be related or could it be something more serious?

Hi,
It seems that she might be having enlarged lymph nodes in the neck giving this problem.
There might be having some infection on scalp or ear or throat.
Consult your doctor and get examined for necessary treatment.
