Increasing SGPT could indicate damage to the liver by infection like hepatitis, cholestasis due to bile duct anomalies, congenital enzyme deficiency which can cause jaundice etc. You need to do other liver function tests, Hepatitis assays and also get an ultrasound done to find a possible cause.
