What Can Be Done To Prevent Bleeding During Pregnancy Despite Taking Microgest?

Hi, My wife is 5.6 week pregnant (as per sonogaphy report), 6 days ago, there were few spots of bleeding started and we consulted a gynecologist. The doctor prescribed to take Microgest 200mg twice a day & folinine once in a day, but still few drop of blood come out with urine and sometimes a little bleeding without urine. A miscarriage happened in past (2011) and was for 3 months pregnancy. We have checked the pregnancy on sat using preganews kit and she is pregnant. Please advice, how we can cope up with the situation. We don t want to any risk with pregnancy, plase suggest.

Hi,
In the current scenario, she would need absolute bed rest until the bleeding completely subsides, avoid all stressful activity including sexual intercourse. The medication should be continued as advised by your consultant. Serial estimations of serum beta-hCG titres once every 2-3 days along with regular trans-vaginal sonograms help to assess the status of the pregnancy. Please maintain a healthy diet and mental relaxation. Hope your query has been answered. Good luck.
