What Can Be Cause For Bladder Infection?

I have had a bladder inf for 3 months, was on 4 meds.. the sulfur helped and went away 3 weeks ago, but I think it s back agian....no burning when I had this. A Few weeks ago, I went to urologist...did pelvic, was good, and was emptying bladder good. Wanted to do cystoscopy, but since I felt it was gone the following week, I canceled. Now I am urinating a lot with some pelvic pain again. I have been on water pills for years....wondering if this is causing it? Seems better in evening??

Hello dear
Understand your concern.
I think you are suffering from chronic cystitis.
In this there is a chronic inflammation of mucosa of bladder.

Following are the symptoms: Suprapubic pain, painful sexual intercourse, burning during urination, frequency, nocturia,
Exact cause is not known but following factors may be associated
Poor pelvic hygiene after sex, genetic factors, autoimmune conditions, stress, neurologic therory play important role.
Diagnosis by physical examination and history.
Test:
Urine culture, routine and microscopic examination
Urea, creatinine, CBC, ESR
Cystoscopy, IVP study.

You should o consult the urologist for better treatment:
Advice are below:
Counselling
Education to patient regarding condition
Self care
Avoid stress and start relaxation exercises.
Diet modification: take diet diary and avoid diet that aggravate symptoms.
Avoid coffee, tea, alcohol, citrus fluid, chocolate, soda, artificial sweetners.
Drink plenty of fluids, do not delay in empty the bladder, Empty the bladder completely,do urination after sex, maintain pelvic hygiene,
Pain relieving medication: amitryptaliine/duloxentine, cimetidine
Antibiotics: Septran /nitrofurantoin
Tablet prednisolone
If not responds then
Triamcinolone injcetion
Intravesicle BCG injcetion
Hydrodystension of bladder under general anesthesia
Last option is surgery: cystectomy or urinary diversion
