Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe ear pain which infection of upper respiratory track infection that has spread to ear through eustachian tube . Sometimes when upper respiratory track infection when left untreated or when occur again and again spread to ear through eustachaian tube and causing pain. For now do warm saline gargles , take steam twice a day and apply warm dry compresses to external ear. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test and allergy test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin at least for 10 days along with decongestant and anti inflammatory. You should take steam and blow cheeks with nose closed.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
