What Are White Blood Cell And White Cells Are Tested For?

Hi there my daughter inlaw has had two blood tests in the last two weeks. First one came back with a high level in white blood cell and second one the white cells are higher. She is being sent for another one and having a test call cpr or some thing like that? what are they checking for and what is the test.

Increased WBC(white blood cell) count indicate some infection in the body.
Increased CRP(C-reactive protein) is also related to infection.
It is important to know clinical details of the patient.
In most of the infections,WBC count is increased.However,exact etiology should be found out by further investigations.
Proper treatment depend upon underlying etiology.
