Hi,
I understand your concern.
Postinor is an emergency contraceptive.Being high dose hormone preparation, it aught to produce side effects.
In your wife's case, You had sex following her menses,i.e. 1st week of cycle. In fact that comes in safe period, & conception is rare, because ovulation is on 14th day of periods in 28 days cycle.
So the hormones in the pill caused high rise in hormones followed by it's withdrawal-- causing her withdrawal bleeding with heavy blood loss. It can be considered normal, for the time of consuming the pill.
bleeding should stop maximum within 8 days.
If it does not, she has to consult a Gynecologist for evaluation & treatment.
Thanks.
