What Are The Uses And Side Effects Of Letrozole And Duphaston During Pregnancy?

Hello, I did my IUI on 20-21 March,2011. My doctor had asked me to go for a check up 14 days later. Yesterday I tested positive for pregnancy. In these 14 days I was asked to take Letroze. Yesterday onwards I was asked to take Duphastone till my first sonography on 21.04.11. Are all these medications safe to take ? I am also taking glyciphage as I have PCOS. Please let me know

Hello,
Letrozole should not be used in pregnancy. Please make sure if you have been suggested the same medication from your consultant and stop it immediately. Duphaston is progesterone and is used when hormone supplementation is needed as in assisted pregnancies. This is safe to use in pregnancy. Also, Metformin can be used in pregnancy to maintain proper glucose balance and it is also safe. This is useful to treat insulin resistance, which is usually seen in PCOD.
