General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi there.
The possibilities that come to my mind are either dental caries or an allergic reaction. Any history of toothache/painful gums.?
Any new face make up, or change in face wash liquid, something different from the usual , might have caused an allergic reaction.
You could try taking an antihistamine like Cetirizine, which might help reduce the swelling and itching. If it doesn't help, do visit a doc.
Hope this information was helpful to you.
Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
