Hello
The most common mode of transmission of HIV infection is homosexual ( as may be in your case?????).
As you mentioned that sexual episode was some 6 years ago .
As I mentioned earlier this is a most common way of transmission of HIV If one partner is HIV infected ( but not sure ) but it depend on many factors as advanced-stage disease , more virulent strains of virus and antiretroviral treatment , time taken during exposure ( less time , less chance ).
In your case I would like to say if you would have been HIV infected , the symptoms may have appeared much earlier .
Approximately 50-70% of HIV infected experience acute HIV syndrome , these symptoms are:
Fever , pharyngitis, lymphadenopathy, headache / retro-orbital pain, arthralgias/myalgias, lethragy/ malaise, anorexia / loss of appetite , nausea/vomiting/diarrhea.
Other are erythematous maculopauplar rashes, mucocutaneous ulceration.
While in chronic cases ( if you would been case ) Fever ==1 month
lymphadenopathy generalized==1 month, diarrhea==1month, herpex zoster recurrent , herpex simplex , weight loss , tongue coating and mouth ulcer .
Generalized weakness .
But in your case , you are not having such type of symptoms , so need not to take tension.
If few of these symptoms , you are having , get in ELISA test for HIV confirmation.
Hope this will help you.
