What Are The Symptoms Of Tonsillitis?

I recently went to the doctor for strep like symptoms and the test was negative. However, I have been taking augmentin for 24 hours now with now relief and the infection spread. They prescribed an oral steroid to take along with the anit-biotic but I m rather concerned that I am being treated for something that they haven t identified. It looks as if it could be tonisilitis or diptheria. I live in a building occupied by a few hundred music students, many from different countries. I don t don t whether or not I should got to an ED tonight, or give the meds a chance.
