What Are The Symptoms Of Throat Cancer?

I've had a terrible cough, sore throat and pain in my eardrums for a week now. Been the doctor n he told me it a bad viral infection . he told me to gargle on salt water and take ibuprofen but I seem to be getting worse. I already take co codomol for other problems but I'm taking more now because of this. I'm panicking in case I've got throat cancer because I have been drinking regular since October.

Hello sir and welcome.

Throat cancer is unlikely, but I would although recommend you stay off alcohol till your recover completely, at least. If it is indeed a viral infection, it should subside gradually, but if it has stayed for longer than 2 weeks then I would recommend a visit to your doctor for a chest x ray, Mantoux's test, complete blood profile, sputum analysis, etc.

Best wishes.
