my friend thinks she has scabies! i was in contact with her before she concluded she thinks she has it. Its been almost two weeks and i have not had any red bumps or itching. I went to the hospital today and the doctor said i dont have it, however if i dont have it then does that mean my friend doesnt have it? And is there any home treatments (tea tree oil, tanning beds, bleach bath).
It is a highly contagious skin disease caused by an infestation by the itch mite Direct skin-to-skin contact is the mode of transmission. Sexual contact is the most common form of transmission among sexually active young people. A severe itch is the predominant symptom of scabies. include a skin rash composed of small red bumps and blisters on the specific areas like fingers, hands, external genital organs like glans penis, labia majora etc Tiny red burrows on the skin and relentless itching. The itch leads to frequent scratching, which may predispose the skin to secondary infections. There is no home remedy for the treatment of scabies. The best treatment is Permethrin (Elimite) cream, which is applied directly to the skin, from the neck to the soles of the feet. It should be left on overnight and then washed off 8 to 14 hours later. Usually a second application after 1 to 2 weeks is recommended.
Take care.
