What Are The Symptoms Of Pulmonary Blastomycosis

My husband has been diagnosed with pulmonary blastomykosis (fungal lung disease) and his infectious disease dr. has put him on an antibiotic which requires a fatty diet and an acid environment in his stomach to work best. The dr. has told him to eat a fatty meal and has also told him that the acid environment is best created with Coke. These are two things that his acid reflux disease and GURD forbid. What do you suggest? Unfortunately, the lung disease is life threatening but his GURD is under complete control . . . up until now.

In my opinion, you should consult another pulmonologist because your present doctor is not giving treatment according to the guidelines.
Blastomycosis is fungal infection. And it is very rare type of infection.
Patient should eat healthy food like high protein diet, multivitamin and antioxidants tablet to improve & maintain immunity.
Fungal culture and sensitivity report is also needed for the guidance of appropriate antifungal treatment.
By no means coke and acidic environment of stomach help in Blastomycosis.
So better to consult good pulmonologist and discuss all these.
