What Are The Symptoms Of Potential Hashimoto S Disease?

My 25 year old daughter has a hx of CA (malignant sarcoma) in 2007, had sx and radiation. Clear now x 7 years. Has had Hashimoto s x 3 years. Had recent blood test which showed decrease thyroid antibodies, chromatin antibodies = 1, and ANA of 1280. Can she have this with Hashimoto s. We understand it can mean other autoimmune issues. What tests does she need to have. She is an RN, BSN.

Hi,

Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

What is her thyroid function tests reports?

Hashimoto's disease is auto immune. This antibodies are just a marker of disease. This doesn't mean you have disease, but you are at high risk of developing a disease. So if thyroid antibodies are high, she is at risk of developing hypothyroidism. You need to do her thyroid function tests to detect that.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
