What Are The Symptoms Of Irritable Bowel Syndrome?

Hello,
I have had very loose stool, sometimes diahorea, for over a year now. The stool is also the wrong colour sometimes - more greenish or light brownish, possibly because it has mucus in it. It can sometimes have a rank smell too. I also have a build up of gases sometimes, and fart much more than I did before. There is no obvious blood in the stool, though. It may be a coincidence but the symptoms started (over a year ago) in the middle stages of an extremely stressful life event which lasted over a prolonged period of 6 months, and which also caused depression at the time (no longer depressed now though), and which also resulted in an eye twitch problem (I still have this problem). Can you pinpoint the problem? Is it most likely to be irritable bowel syndrome or are other possibilities more likely?

Hello
IBS is definitely in the mix, as is an H pylori stomach infection, or a colonic bacterial infection. You need colonoscopy, stool for culture and sensitivities, and a screen for the H pylori
