What Are The Symptoms Of Herpes?

Hi

I've had a potential exposure to hiv.

My symptoms now at 6 week include low fever, sore throat, cough, swollen lymph glands, rash, white fungi on tongue and numbness on lega and arm.

Just wondering if this could be related to herpes or other disease than hiv?

Thanks

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, cough, rash and white tongue, numbness of arms and leg are not symptoms for Herpes. Nothing to worry.
Herpes would be manifested with grouped vesicles going for tiny grouped ulceration which will heal after 2 weeks.
Ordinary sore throat would manifest with the symptoms explained by you.
In early HIV 50% of infected may have manifestations like those. Other STDs would not have such manifestations after 6 weeks. Gonococcal pharyngitis would manifest within a weeks time.
So your symptoms are unlikely to be due to STD and likely to be an ordinary throat infection.
