What Are The Symptoms Of Herpes?

Hi my boyfriend is afraid that he has got herpes. His only syptoms are itching and tingling. He has small red bumps which covers the tip of his penis, but isnt extreemly huge or blistering. It looks like a rash. Could this be herpes? Or possibly jusy thrush?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi thanks for asking question.

Let me know you herpes infection is painful and blustering lesion or ulcer present.

Noted you have only red itchy bump over glans. Most likely it could be fungal infection or non specific balanitis.

Here chances of herpes are very less.

Topical antifungal cream can be applied.

Make that area clean with soap and water daily with warm water during bathing.Allow that area dry and clean ...As wet area predispose for fungal infection.

If other symptoms like enlarge lymph node, pus discharge or ulcer appear then consult your ER.

I hope your concern solved.

Take care.
