Hi, my girlfriend has herpes, I m worried I might have contracted it. I tested negative from a blood test before we started dating. I had some symptoms a few weeks ago and last week. If it was a primary outbreak, I feel like it would be considered extremely mild. It could be a rash from playing hockey. I had the first symptoms swabbed five days after I noticed bc it was the first clinic I could get to. The doctor said the test came back negative but there may not have been enough fluid present. Last week I woke up and had a rash in the same place, but it disappeared before the end of the day. I ve had flu like symptoms for the past week. I have pictures of both possible outbreaks. Can you look at the pictures and tell me whether you think they are herpes sores? Do you think based on my description that they are herpes sores? Is the only way I can know by waiting three months for a blood test? I m very anxious about this, possibly overly sensitive. My girlfriend doesn t want to take daily suppressive therapy. We ve been dating for 7 months. How can I explain to her the importance of protecting my health without it seeming like I don t care about her?
