What Are The Symptoms Of Croup?

I suspect my 6 month yr old boy has croup. Stated with children with it, now has seal like cough. Had a bout of coughing which he has settled down from, but breathing was erratic. Many coughs then silence as he breathed in. Problem is that we are around 3 hours by air ambulance from a doctor. He is fine now, but are worried he might not be if he starts to cough again. Should we be calling emergency services?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In, you should definitely take him to hospital because possibility of pneumonia is more likely.
6 months old child with cough, breathing difficulty should be evaluated for pneumonia first because prompt treatment gives best results. So better to evaluate him for pneumonia and start treatment as soon as possible.
So don't wait at home, take him to hospital.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
