What Are The Symptoms Of Broken Heart Syndrome?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on broken heart syndrome . I m writing a short story and I want the main character to have this syndrome, but the internet isn t helping me with my specific questions such as, can it last for months or is it just a brief experience like a heart attack?

Broken heart syndrome is less severer than a heart attack because there are no blocked arteries. It has also been found, that this syndrome usually happens once in a lifetime. The only difference between the 2 is that in broken heart syndrome , tests show no signs of heart damage. Patients usually recover within few days or weeks

It happens because of immense stress which gradually leads to shortness of breath and chest pain

Good luck with writing your story.
