What Are The Symptoms Of Bone Infection?

Had foot surgery 2 and 1/2 months ago. Had 2 screws put in heel to help fusion that didn t heal first time 2 years ago. Just curious what symtoms of bone infection feels like. They did do grafting to help the healing process. I have no redness or open incisions with drainage. but my heel hurts on a scale of 7 right now. I am on crutches with partial weight bearing in a boot because bone healing is slow. Today is the first day I have had a lot of pain and just curious if you can always see bone infection symptoms. I will call my doctor first thing in morning any way.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Fever, raised local temperature, resting pain throbbing in nature, can all be signs of infection. your history doesn't suggest this, rest assured.
Now your pain, its a secondary procedure with graft, and only 2.5 months.
Have faith on your doctor, gradually your will be fine.
Infection should not even be in your dreams.
enjoy healthy living and speedy recovery.
