Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is 59 years old. He has high blood pressure. He is under a lot of stress right now. lately I noticed he walks different. He takes baby steps and has a problem with right side, bumping into things. He sleeps more than usual. Did he have a stroke?
I read your message carefully and I understood your concern.
I see your husband has high blood pressure. If you could tell me how much time has he been diagnosed with hypertension and what medication he takes. Also, if he has other medical conditions please mention them. It is important to have this information as we should know how well he is managing his hypertension.
Going through a lot of stress lately is causing high blood pressure (bp) to spike leading to a possible stroke. His changes in walking (taking baby steps with right side and sleeping more than usual) are suggestive of possible stroke. Further consultation with cardiologist and neurologist is recommended to rule it out.
Being under a lot of stress is causing confusion and absentmindedly, so he get bumped into things without noticing.
Again, get him checked by cardiologist and neurologist to rule out organic problems like stroke.
Hope this was helpful. Dr.Albana
