What Are The Symptoms Of Acute Retroviral Syndrome?
Hi, I got an HIV rapid blood test today and will get the results in two days. Anyway last year on new years eve my ex boyfriend and i were foolingn around with no clothes.he inserted himself in me but did not ejaculate. 2/12 months later i had a BAD cold with major chest pain (i have asthma) & then it went away on its own after a week. after a week, my lymph nodes under my arm and side of my groin were tender to touch. a few days later i had a canker sore in my cheek. I was freaking out and still am. does that sound like Acute Retroviral Syndrome to you? also note he had the swine flu two months before my exposure

acute retroviral syndrome will present after few days to few weeks of possible infection . the usual symptoms will be fever ,fatigue , body pain ,joint pain, skin rashes resembling any viral fever.
you have not described symptoms like this .So wait for the results .till then dont panic.

HIV can be diagnosed by symptoms alone , you have to substantiate it by blood tests. Acute Retro viral syndrome symptoms too are general symptoms like -fever, rash, arthralgia , sore throat etc.
