What Are The Symptoms And Treatment For Upper Gastro Internal Bleeding?

Hi! The last 2 to 3 bowel movements my stool color has been black. After checking online it is a sign of upper gastric internal bleeding. I have been on prescription Eliquis 5mg 1 table twice a day for about 2 months. Should I continue taking the medication until I see my doctor or should I stop. Thank You, Alan

Hello,
Eliquis or apixaban is an anticoagulant drug and it is totally not recommended in cases with bleeding ? To begin with what is the cause for you taking Eliquis ? Heart problems, haematologic problem ? This bleeding can be cause by Eliquis and can be worsened by this medication so you should see a doctor ASAP as I am not aware of the reason why you take Eliquis in the first place.
