What Are The Symptoms And Treatment For Tonsil Cancer?
sir, my cousin is having a tonsil problem last 1.5 years. she is 25, height 5.1 weight 45kgs. she consulted an ent who advised her to get her tonsils operated which she didnot. last two days she is discovering blood in her saliva in the morning. is it tonsil cancer? is there something to fear? can it be operated now? and what will be the expenses? please answer the query.
It is possible that your cousin is having an infection in the oral cavity which is closely related to the tonsillitis. It is less likely that she will be having tonsil cancer if there is no other symptom. However it is important to consult the ENT specialist and take required treatment with medicine to cure the infection. Once she is comfortable then a planned surgery might be done to remove the tonsils.
There is no need to fear and tonsillitis is a common condition in children and young adults. If the infections get frequent then a surgery is required immediately and that is the reason why it was suggested by her doctor. Operation is done when an acute infection is treated and patient is fit to get surgery done. The expenses are variable and might cost over 20000 INR and depends on the hospital and post surgery care and requirements.
