What Are The Symptoms And Treatment For Hashimoto's Thyroiditis?

I have a family history of Hashimoto's disease, both mother and older sister. Mine TSH has increased from 2.04 five years ago to 4.34 this month and I have a multitude of symptoms, but can find no doctor to help. What do I do? I am almost 57, 5'8
", and weigh 175 lbs. which has increased in the past five years from 148 lbs. and cannot be lost. I am healthy, active and eat a low calorie daily diet of approximately 1200-1400 calories.

Hi
I need more details about your symptoms to understand what s happening with you.Anyway if i was your treating doctor i will order a specific blood test to diagnose Hashimoto s disease, anti Tpo anticortps and i will perform a thyroid ultrasound to see the structure of thyroid gland that can help for the diagnose.your actual TSH is near the upper limit of the normal range (0,4-4,0) so dont worry ,i dont think you need any treatement .Hope i have anwered to your question.
