What Are The Survival Rates After A Severe Heart Attack?

My friends father suffered a widow maker heart attack. He survived but the lower portion of his heart is severly damaged. He had surgery today to insert a pace maker and dyfibultator (spelling?) however, he came out of surgery intibated and now the Doctor is saying it doesnt look good? It has been three days since the heart attack. What are the general percentages of survival after initially surviving this type of attach?

Hi,it depends on the patient vital signs and other commorbidities,it might be difficult for you to accept his current condition and his prognosis you need to understand that outcome of your friend might be poor and chance of survival is less as been explained by the cardiologist after the procedure,if he comes out of this current condition he need to take care of his other commobidites like hypertension and diabetes and keep stop other habits like smoking and alcholism, anyways hope for the best....and need to take regular medications as advised by doctors with out missing even a single dose
