What Are The Snacks Suggestible For Diabetics?

My husband is a diabetic and has been diagnosed with Kidney disease (26-29% function). He is going on a snowmobile trip and I am at a loss as to what SNACKS I can pack for him! He has a tendency to wait until he's feeling weak from low blood sugar before he thinks to eat something!
Please advise :(
Thanks, Geri

Dear madam i understand your concern.i am having two important suggestions for you.1) its very bad in your husband condition to wait until low sugar come.due to repeated low sugars he will soon loose his ability to detect low sugar and land in complications.since his kidney function is also 25%-29% you should be more careful about low sugars because pts with kidney problems will get low sugars more offen if they are on insulin.my advise is to fix a time for snack and take in regular time.he can take snack like fiber rich biscuits, fruits like half apple, brown bread,oats...regards
