Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son fell off his bed earlier it took him a few seconds to cry and I didn t see a bump or and swelling. I was just scared woundering if he will be ok. I m new at this mom stuff what do I look for what if the bump is on the inside? How do I know? He is 2 years old
Hello, I understand your concern. Falls at this age are very common as kids are enthusiastically exploring the world, their limits and also other peoples's limits. Warning signs of interior damage after a fall would be loss of consciousness (even for a few seconds), vomiting, and sometimes trouble breathing. If your son didn't show any of these signs and there is no altered behavior, then chances are he is fine. However, being watchful and observing his behavior for any changes like increased drowsiness, excessive sleeping in the next 24 hours is the sensible thing to do.
Wishing you all the best.
