Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic,
After going through your history, you have Diabetes,Kidney stone,Hyperacidity with gastritis.
The drug in question that is Dutasteride and Tamsulosin do not cause pain and nerve dysfunction but this may result from diabetes or back problem usually to disc related.
Tamsulosin may cause sulfa allergy, sexual function in men. It can cause males to experience retrograde ejaculation. vertigo, headache, nasal congestion and palpitations sometime low blood pressure.
Dutasteride, impotence, decreased libido, this drug also has long half life so it is advisable not donate blood for at least 6 months after the cessation of treatment.
Due to risk of causing birth defects to the child if transfusion is given to patient who is pregnant.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
Good Luck.

Hi thanks for using HCM.

Dutasteride and tamsulosin are given for prostatomegaly and not kidney stones.
Dutasteride: skin rash and swelling of lips may occur.
Tamsulosin: dizziness and retrograde ejaculation may occur. So they are relatively safe and no major side effects if taken for 2-3 months.
Pan D and Glimepiride are also relatively safer. So for the pain get examined by the surgeon once and since diabetic the chance of diabetic neuropathy is also there. For that you can take multivitamins with neuro protective agents. Consult your doctor and get examined and treatment. Hope I answered your question. Wish you good health.Take care.

Regards
Dr.Lohit

General & Family Physician Dr. Pavan Kumar Gupta's  Response
Hello,
Side effects encountered after a long term use of dutasteride and tamsulosin are
Generally dizziness,orthostatic hypotension,decreased libido,runny nose etc.
Pain in buttocks and legs is not due to use of dutasteride and tamsulosin and seems to be due to peripheral neuropathy caused by longterm uncontrolled diabetes and there may be some associated deficiency of VIT B12 and VIT D also. The muscle can also be due to the use of anti choleterol medications,if they are being taken.
Treatment involves..
Control of diabetes.
Use of medicines like PREGABLIN,DULOXETINE etc.
Use of adequate amounts of VIT B12,VIT D and calcium.
Consult your doctor and discuss about it.
Thanks
