What Are The Side Effects Of Having Implanon Implant?

I have had the implanon implant for almost three years now. I never had any of the side effects from it. I lost about 30 pounds last year. Then since February of this year I have put on 40 pounds. I am also feeling pressure in my abdomen like something moving in there. I have not had a period since it was placed. So I have take three HPT test. All have been negative. Is it possible I could be pregnant?

Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting the Physicians at HealthCare Magic. I have worked through your case thoroughly, and I can easily realize your health worries. Being your physician, I reassure you not to worry as things will settle down very soon.

Side effects of implanon may be changes in menstrual bleeding, mood swings, weight gain (as you gained 40Lbs), headache, acne, breast pains, pain in abdomen or at the site of insertion. These are a few out of many others.

No it does't seem that you are pregnant, as history is inconclusive. You need a proper gynecological evaluation after getting a pregnancy test done. So, please go to the laboratory and get urine hCG leves tested to get a conclusive evidence of the pregnancy or to get negative, whatever the case may be.
Fix an appointment and consult your gynecologist.

May you get very well soon and have a wonderful time ahead. Please don't forget to give your valuable feedback to help us assist you in a better way.

Regards!
