What Are The Side Effects Of Emergency Contraceptive Pills?

I had sex on the 6th day of my cycle and took an emergency contraceptive pill (i-pill) in 24 hours. After a week I experienced some bleeding for 2-3 day. It has been a month and a half, I still haven t got my period. What are the chances of pregnancy or can this be because of the pill?

Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM.

This can be related to taking your emergency pill, since it has high dose of progesterone and estrogen it might lead to bleeding afterwards plus changes in your period cycle. Nevertheless ruling our pregnancy is advised and this can be done by simply doing a pregnancy urine test, if your period is longer delayed please refer to a gynecologist.
hope that helped.
