my mother is with me now. She had a colonoscopy yesterday. During this they found a sigmoid with a longer left side colon than right, and that her colon was fixated due to abdominal scar tissue (from abdominal surgery she decade prior). During procedure they gave an IV of fluids and had her drink over a gallon of water that day. They said she could drive to see me 450 miles away so she did this morning. She has drank 1/2 gallon of water today so far. She has been using restroom and voiding a lot each time. We thought this normal given the fluid they have had her intake. When she arrived she looked normal, but in the two hours it took us to go out to each lunch and come back to my place, she has developed a round bulge on the top of her chest (above sternum and below neck). It is raised about 3/4 of an inch. It feels like it may be fleshy or possibly filled firm with fluid. (Or could it be air?) Also, her abdomen is swelling up a bit a well (bloating). My question is, is this dangerous? Should she go to hospital? What are side effects that are normal vs to worry about after a colonoscopy? Could this be a perforation? Or is this just poor digestion and water retention agrivated by the fact she spent 5 hrs sitting in a car coming out here?
