What Are The Side Effects Of Azithromycin Tablet?
I started a 6 day pack of methypredisone the day before learning I had strep throat. I was then put on 500mg 5 day treatment of azithromycin. Could the steroid affect my healing rate or cause me to relapse with the strep? I feel fine when sitting around but when I try to go to work or my car I get winded and light headed. Could this be a side effect. I am finished both medicines this morning and then had gastro-intestinal issues all afternoon. I just want to know when I can expect to be back to normal.

Dear Patient,
the gastro-intestinal issues can be a side effect of azithromycine. If its not heavy diarrhea that should settle within the next 4-5 days. In case it doesn't you should see your dr again.
The light headedness can still be remains from strep throat, that can take up to a week recovery time. However, should throat pain reoccur you should also see your dr again.
You should give yourself up to anotehr week to fully recover.
