What Are The Side Effects Of Antibiotics?

I am given 2 types of antibiotic tablet by a dentist after a root canel treatment,

Metrogy400 (1 tab 3X/day for 5 days) and Ospamox 250mg ( 2cap 3x/day for 5 days). I rarely take antibiotic and am afraid if there is any side effect. Shall I just take 1 type instead? Please advice.

Hello, I hope I can help.
The real question that should be asked is why your sentist gave you your antibiotic. Usually the antibiotic is given prophylactically to prevent mouth bacteria from spreading in the body and causing an infection, especially in the heart. This is especially true in any patients with heart disease, or history of heart valve surgery.

The bad news is that you really need to take all of the anti-biotics for them to be affective as it is necessary to get your blood level high enough to kill any bacteria that may have gotten into your blood stream.

The side effects of antibiotics can be anywhere from Lethal (if you are allergic) to nothing at all. The most common side effect of antibiotics is stomach ache and gastorintestinal issues. These are quite common.

So in short you should probaly take the medications as directed (if your doc thinks you needs them) and hydrate well if you develop GI symptoms.
