Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Regestrone contains 'Norethisterone', which is a progestogen hormone.
It can be used to prevent
pregnancy, normalize the menstrual cycle, help correct heavy bleeding and other such menstrual disorders.
You have been administered by your doctor to normalize menstrual cycle.
Possible side-effects that may occur due to use of Regestrone include: Feeling tired, Intermittent bleeding or spotting, Weight gain, Headache, Pain in legs, Stomach pain and
Acne.
You can reduce your weight by healthy diet and regular exercise.
In case bleeding does not regularize by medications, you need to undergo
ultrasound scan followed by a procedure namely dilatation and curettage (D & C).
Hysterectomy would be the last resort and needs to be considered if bleeding does not get regularized by above measures.
Kindly consult Gynecologist in this regard for appropriate management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
