RECLAST contains zolendronic acid and is used to increase bone mass in patients with
osteoporosis. Its common side effects are pain in joint, fever, muscle pain, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea,
eye inflammation,
excessive sweating, low blood pressure and allergic reactions. Don’t worry it does not predispose to infection. Infection is predisposed by most of the biologics drugs. This is not a problem with RECLAST. Injection
dexamethasone, promthazine and paracetamol can be taken before RECLAST injection to prevent allergic reaction and fever due to RECLAST.
Advice
1. Maintain good oral hygiene
2. Drink 4 – 5 liters of water daily to maintain proper hydration
