Yes palpitation is a side effect of Placida withdrawal. The other side effects are nausea, and other gastrointestinal disturbance ,sleeplessness, drowsiness, dryness of mouth, weight gain, restlessness, sleep disturbance, tremor, menstrual disturbance, tachycardia, orthostatic hypotension and decrease sexual drive. It is never advised to stop any antipschycotic drug on your own. If at all then it should be tappered. Start the drug immediately till you take your mom to her doctor. He might add some drug or may like to change Placida.
