What Are The Side Effects Of Octreotide?

Hello, I took the drug octreotide acetate for a couple of weeks to try and reduce the drainage of my fistula that I got from hernia surgery. It did help reduce some of the drainage but now I have an abdominal distintion as a side effect from the drug. It does cause me pain and burning. Can you tell me how long it will take for it to go away?

Hello , i just read your query and i must say that it does appear that you have these side effects due to Octreotide which you were prescribed after surgery. However, the effects cease to appear as soon as Octreotide is stopped although gradually.
Since you took it for a longer period for more than a couple of weeks i suggest give it a week or so to resolve.
If it doesn't resolve then you must have a postoperative checkup.
Hope that helps solve your problem.
