Hi,
Neoral (Cyclosporine) can cause hypertension and also has a toxic effect on kidneys. Proteinuria, lower limb and facial edema is pointing towards some kind of kidney involvement. I would advice you to consult your physician immediately.
Yes, Neoral(cyclosporine) is an immunosuppressant drug.
And regarding interactions, following points may be noted.
1) I would be very cautious to use combination of atorvastain and cyclosporine. I would limit the dose of atorvastain to 10mg/day if the combination is essential for the patient.
2) I would also be cautious with amlodipine and cyclosporine combination as amlodpine can increase the effects of cyclosporine.
3) Zyloric (allopurinol) can also cause a minor increase in levels of cyclosporine.
I hope the above information helps you in discussing the management with your physician. Thanks.
