What Are The Side Effects Of NAN Pro-1?

Hello Sir, My sister can not breastfeed baby because no milk is coming. She breastfeeded for 2 months then doctor suggested to use nan Pro 1. Is that ok? Is there any side effect of this? We are feeding formula with bottle? Is there any side effect of that? Thanks for you time.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

At 4 weeks usually, there will be enough breast milk output for most of the mothers. However, if your milk output is less you can add lactogen or nan-pro.

No problem. No side effects. Mild constipation can occur, but usually improves in a few days.

Always breastfeed each time for 20 minutes, after that if baby is still hungry you can give 30 mL to 50 mL extra. Stop once baby refuses the feed. Ensure she passes urine at least 6 to 8 times a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sandip Kabra
