What Are The Side Effects Of Methylprednisolone?

I have never taken a steroid before and am afraid to. I have had hives for 5 nights, only at nighttime, and my doctor has prescribed methylprednisolone pack for me. I have a call in to discuss with him, but how high is the possibility of me having some of the side effects, like anxiety, aggression, etc? I have to work 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday and am worried about functioning. I can only take 1/4 Xanax, so that describes my tolerance level for medications. Thank you.

Hi i do care for your concern.
The dosage prescribed for hives usually minimal.
the steroids though have side effects, they are not much pronounced for a short term course.
It is advisable to continue medicine prednisolone as there will be only a minimal or nil side effect after a short term course.
You have not mentioned your age and reason for hives and dosage schedule.
