What Are The Side Effects Of Letrozole?

My doctor wants me to begin letrozole on Friday but my insurance is requiring pre-approval so I m not certain yet if I will be actually starting on Friday. Regardless I am worried about side effects. The anastrozole was good at first but the longer I took it the worse the pain became in my feet until it got to the point where I couldn t even walk without limping and pain. I m concerned that letrozole will have similar effects? What are the percentages that this will happen?

Letrozole and anastrozole belongs to the same class called aromatose inhibitors. The side effects you have experienced with anastrozole may or may not occur with letrozole.
But if the pain that you had was due to arthralgia - pain in the joints, then the chances are that letrozole is less likely to cause it.
But as they are different drugs, it's difficult to predict whether the side effects with one drug can be seen with other. The only way is to take the medication and loo out for the effects.
Hope the above information helps you. Thanks.
