What Are The Side Effects Of Gastric Banding?
Yes. I have been on Nexium for 10 years and after reading reports, I decided to wean myself off. I was taking half a tablet daily from Nov, Dec, but took one a day for a week over Christmas as I didn t want pain when eating and drinking over Christmas. I ve had gastric banding at the time all the problems started. Last Wednesday I stopped Nexium for good. This Wednesday I vomited and diarrhea incredibly. I m trying to keep liquids in but the lemonade I drank today has caused my gut to bleed again. I m in incredible pain and haven t eaten since Wednesday night. The gastric initially worked, but I was forced to eat wrong foods and I m overweight again. I think I ll take some gavison now. Sleeping, and taking in easy, that s all I can do.

Nexium ,like all traditional or herbal medications, does have potential side effects that may or may not occur.
Side effects tend to occur in the minority of persons.
It is not a medication that needs to be weaned, it can be stopped abruptly. Weaning is necessary for drugs that can cause addiction and dependence, it is not in this drug category.
The acute vomiting and diarrhea may be due to an infection, viral or bacterial.
Using fluids , probiotics and the gaviscon if you have heartburn , would help.
